Commemoration of the Battle of Koh Chang

The battle of Koh Chang between the Thai and French Navy dated back to the year 1941. On 17 of January of each year Trat commemorates the bravery of naval officers who sacrificed their lives to defend the motherland and succeeded in driving the enemies away from Koh Chang, the largest island in Trat and second largest island in Thailand after Phuket. The event, held at the battle site, includes religious ceremony, exhibitions organized by the Royal Navy and government offices and varieties of entertainment.
